Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that India’s Gen Z is increasingly aligning with the BJP’s development-centric governance model, pointing to the party’s recent win in a municipal body election in West Bengal as evidence of changing voter sentiment.

Addressing party workers, the Prime Minister said the younger generation is aspirational, forward-looking, and focused on opportunities, infrastructure, and innovation. According to him, Gen Z voters are evaluating governments based on performance rather than ideology, and are supporting policies that promise growth, employment, and long-term stability.

PM Modi noted that the BJP’s success in the Bengal civic polls reflects a broader shift, even in regions where the party has traditionally faced stiff competition. He said development initiatives, transparent governance, and welfare schemes aimed at youth empowerment have helped the party connect with first-time and young voters.

Highlighting initiatives such as startup support, digital infrastructure expansion, skill development programs, and improved urban facilities, the Prime Minister said these efforts resonate strongly with Gen Z, which seeks modern solutions to modern challenges.

He added that the BJP’s governance model focuses on inclusive growth and accountability, and that electoral outcomes at the grassroots level show growing public confidence. The Prime Minister called the Bengal BMC win a sign of momentum for the party’s development agenda and urged workers to continue engaging with young voters across the country.

PM Modi also stressed that the BJP’s development model prioritises inclusive growth, ensuring that benefits reach all sections of society. He said welfare schemes combined with technology-driven delivery systems have improved trust in governance, especially among the younger population.
